Garlic Butter Cod Recipe

Garlic butter flavors accentuate this light and delicate white fish, which cooks perfectly in the oven or skillet. Make this simple cod recipe for a healthy weeknight dinner or special occasion.

– 16 ounces cod cut into filet – Sea salt and black pepper – 2 tsp garlic powder – 4 Tbsp unsalted butter – 1 Tbsp olive oil or avocado oil – 4 large cloves garlic minced – Lemon wedges for serving

Heat the oven to 375°F. Unpackage the cod and arrange it on a dish or chopping board. Pat excess wetness with a paper towel.

Sauté garlic on the heat for 2–4 minutes until fragrant but colorless. If the garlic is closely monitored, increase the heat to medium high.

Remove garlic from the stove before it turns golden brown. The idea is to open up garlic taste without overcooking.

Have fun with lemon slices and your favorite sides! I prefer adding chopped fresh parsley and red pepper flakes to fish.
