At least 1 inch of water should cover eggs in a big pot. Boiling water. Cover and remove water after 30 seconds of vigourous boiling. Wait 4-12 minutes. Jammy eggs take 4 minutes, hard-boiled 12 minutes, and in-between 8 or 10 minutes.

I prefer 6-8 minutes for breakfast hard-boiled eggs and 10-12 for egg or tuna salad.

After sitting for the required time, drain or remove eggs from hot water using a slotted spoon. Run cold water over eggs in a colander or in a dish of ice water. These ways cool eggs by stopping cooking.

Tap eggs all over to crack. Start shell removal from the air pocket on the bigger egg side. Serve immediately or peel and refrigerate to enjoy cold.
