Croissant French Toast Bake Recipe

A larger version of breakfast pudding or baked French toast, this croissant French toast bake is excellent for company or holiday brunch. Buttery croissants crisp on top and appear like you spent all day, yet it's quick to prepare.  

Ingredient

– cooking spray – 6 large egg – 1 cup milk – 1/2 cup heavy cream – 2 tablespoons brown sugar – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon – 1/4 teaspoon salt – 8 large croissants (about 1 1/4 pounds), halved horizontally – confectioner's sugar, fresh berries, or maple syrup for serving

Gather everything you need. Turn the oven on to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cover a 9x13-inch baking dish with a lot of nonstick cooking spray.

A big bowl holds the eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. The eggs should be mixed with a whisk.

To make each half of the croissant totally wet, dip it in the egg mix.

Place dipped croissants in the baking dish that has been prepared. You may need to spread them a bit. Pour any egg mixture that's left over the croissants.

It will take about 30 minutes of baking in a hot oven until it is golden brown and a knife stuck in the middle comes out clean.

Allow to sit for 15 minutes before serving. Add any toppings you want.
