This quick gingerbread hot chocolate is a seasonal twist on a winter favourite. Mix it with gingerbread spices and brown sugar for a taste of molasses in hot milk.

– 1 cup cocoa– 1 cup white sugar– 1/2 cup brown sugar– 2 teaspoons ground ginger– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon– 1/4 teaspoon ground clove– 1/4 teaspoon salt– 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)

Put ginger, cinnamon, cloves, salt, cayenne, white sugar, brown sugar, cocoa, and cinnamon in a bowl. Use a whisk to mix the ingredients well.

Put in a jar that won't let air in until you need it. Before each use, make sure to mix very well.

Heat milk over medium heat until almost simmering to produce hot chocolate. Add 2 tablespoons instant gingerbread hot chocolate mix per cup milk.
