– 3 cups water – 3 tablespoons sugar – 1 (2 inch) cinnamon stick – 2 whole star anise – 6 oolong tea bag – 2 ⅔ cups fresh orange juice – 1 ½ cups whiskey – 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon) – large ice cube – tangerine, sectioned and seeded
Boil water in a pot on high. Add sugar, cinnamon, and star anise. Stop cooking and add tea bags. Steep for 3 minutes (or longer for stronger tea).
Remove tea bags. Let cool to room temperature, 1 hour. Discard star anise and cinnamon stick.
Mix tea, orange juice, whisky and lemon juice in a punch bowl or pitcher. Chill 2 hours or overnight until cold.
Add star anise and tangerine slices. Pour into ice glasses. Put a tangerine slice on top.
