  • 2 to 4 ribeye steaks bone-in or boneless
  • sea salt
  • black pepper
  • garlic powder

  1. To get rid of any extra moisture, take the ribeye out of its package and use paper towels to dry both sides. Add sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to both sides of each steak. If you have time, put the steaks on a plate or baking sheet and put them in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.
  2. This will chill them and let the salt work its way deeper into the meat to make it more soft. Set your oven to High grill when you’re ready to grill the steaks. For five to ten minutes, let the oven heat up. The top part of the oven needs to be very hot so that the steaks get a nice sear on the outside.
  3. Put a wire rack on the second or third-from-top shelf. If you use the top shelf, fat could splash up and hit the hot element, starting an oven fire. If they aren’t already there, take the steaks out of the fridge and put them on a big baking sheet or a grill pan.
  4. Put the steaks on the rack near the top of the oven grill. For medium-rare steaks that are about 2 inches thick, cook for 5 to 7 minutes on each side. For medium-rare, bone-in ribeye steaks may need a little longer, about 6 to 8 minutes per side.
  5. To get medium-done, broil for 7 to 8 minutes per side. To get well-done, broil for 8 to 10 minutes per side. Move the steaks lower in the oven if you want them well-done. This will keep the outside from burning.
  6. If you want your steaks medium rare, broil them for 4 to 5 minutes per side. If you want them medium done, broil them for 5 to 7 minutes per side.
  7. To make sure the steak is cooked just right, put a digital thermometer into the largest part of it and check the temperature inside.
  8. Before serving, put the steaks on a cutting board or a plate for each person and let them rest for at least 5 to 10 minutes.

Q1. How long do you broil a ribeye steak ?
Place the steak under the grill and cook it for 5 to 7 minutes on each side for medium rare (or 9 to 10 minutes for medium). For weather inside, see the notes below. Let the steak rest for about 10 minutes after it’s done cooking before cutting it up and serving it.
Q2. Is it better to pan fry or broil a ribeye steak ?
Every “armchair beef expert” has their own top mystery, “I swear by this” way of cooking beef. Here in this area, we like to grill steak so that the outside is seared and the middle is just right. With a quick sear over high heat, broiling a steak keeps those tasty juices inside.
Q4. Is it better to broil or bake steak ?
While baking involves cooking with indirect heat (hot air circulating), broiling aims heat directly at the surface of your foods. If you’re a fan of a nice char or crust on your steaks, you’ll want to add broiling steaks to your cooking repertoire.
